RV Masters Spotlight – Vacationer

By Alison Huth

Buying a new caravan can seem quite easy. You see one, like it, and put in an order. Then comes the conversations of “Oh, but can we change this? Can we fiddle with this thing so we get something else?” A standard caravan design isn’t standard for everyone.

Vacationer Caravans have spent a huge amount of time and energy developing systems that give their customers the ability to make changes and stay informed about all the affects their changes will make to the layout, cost and weight. This is one of the major aspects of RV Masters.

For many years, the discussion surrounded the choice between wood and aluminum frames. Today, the question is “Is this a Fully Composite Caravan?”

In December 2025, Vacationer introduced their first Fully Composite Caravan, replacing the aluminum frame build.

What the full composite construction means is that the caravan has a one-piece roof and walls. There are fewer joins, which means fewer risks of any leaks. Plus, with no frame between the inner and outer panels, the weight is reduced.

This is a major change that Vacationer have made to ensure their caravans are the highest quality and their service to their customers is also of the highest quality possible. Customer care is a very important part of RV Masters, and Vacationer have developed a really amazing system to ensure that their customers are looked after every step of the way.

There is an online portal so that the Sales Team can access it to see each model. When a customer has seen a model they want, they can sit with their Salesman and talk about any changes they want to personalize the van into the home on wheels they are looking for.

However, the Salesman cannot simply say ‘sure,’ and that’s that. The customer service system means that these changes have to go to the Sales Manager. They are then checked to see what they mean to the overall layout, weight, structure and cost. The Sales Manager can approve a quote on the changes but sends the details on to the next step. The Dealer Liaison continues the process, checks the data and forwards it to the Factory which does the final check and approval.

If they are all approved at the Factory level, then the Dealer Liaison sends cost, details, etc. back to the Salesman who passes these onto the customer to see if they are happy with the changes they have made to their caravan, including weight and costs. Any increase in the weight of the van will reduce the payload available.

This is very important information for the customer. Sadly, not every caravanner, regardless of the brand, understands the problem of a small payload. A common reason for the reduction of the payload is when the customer asks for extra water tanks. Each litre of extra water takes a kilo from the payload.

If the Dealer Liaison cannot confirm the changes are acceptable at the Factory, an amended plan is sent to the Salesman who contacts the customer to update them on what changes are able to be done to meet their desired outcome. One of the main things to look at is to ensure that the weight distribution is acceptable. Changes cannot be made that will make a caravan unsafe.

It’s up to the customer to accept the amendments or not. This back-and-forth system can take a while, but it’s important to ensure that the customer can get a caravan that meets their needs and wants and all the standards required by law.

If the customer is unhappy with the amended information, the process is repeated. It can go back and forth until the customer is happy with the details.

Once the customer has signed off on the changes the Salesman resubmits the final details to the Dealer Liaison so that the caravan can be included in the build schedule.

The next step when the order is placed is the obvious one, payment. With Vacationer there is a very simple system. You pay the Dealer the deposit, they hold it until your van is completed and ready to collect. You pay the balance when you collect your caravan.

But the care and service for Vacationers customers doesn’t end there. When you look at the web site there is so much there for the customers to look at.

I was really impressed with the Aftercare section of their website.

There are 25 Product Suppliers listed in the Aftercare Section. If something goes wrong with a product while you are away, or at home, the first step you can take is to check out the name of the manufacturer then go to their name on the website. If Vacationer use just one product from that manufacturer, there will be one supplier’s manual for that product. But, when Vacationer use more than one product, each product will have the manual under that manufacturers name.

This is a very big bonus for Vacationer customers. Rather than carry a load of manuals in the van, all you need is access to the website.

The purpose of the Aftercare section on the website is to ensure Vacationer can continue giving the high quality of customer care that they consider essential.

RV Masters puts a lot of emphasis on customer care and Vacationer have met that emphasis and gone further.

Another quality control that Vacationer follow is only a set number of vans can be built in a year through their factory. They have created a system that manufacturers a maximum of 200 caravans a year. Why set a maximum number? The reason is to ensure that each caravan they build is built to the highest standard possible. Because of the maximum number there is no need to rush a job through so you can get to the next one.

The build time for a Vacationer Caravan is standard and not negotiable.

RV Masters looks at every aspect of a manufacturers business. Vacationer have used the depth of RV Masters to ensure, amongst other outcomes, an outstanding customer service and a well-paced build of every caravan to ensure a constant high quality and full legal compliance.
